avec le réseau de journalistes et de scientifiques, Devinder Sharma et l’association Dialogue Highway, NGOs and citizenship deep involved in food souverainity, biodiversity, social justice and ecological farming. This time the focus of the Dialogue will be on Ecosystem Services that the Himalayas provide. My idea is to mainstream the need to factor in the economic value of the environmental services that the mountains provide when we talk of development and growth. It is because of the absence of any economic value being attached to the enormous ecosystem services that the mountains provide that the so-called development is leading to the devastation of the Himalayan ecology. This is particularly crucial for not only India but for entire Asia considering the Himalayas are the Third Pole. Indian Environment Minister Anil Dave has agreed to be the chief guest. The Chairman of the National Green Tribunal Justice Swatanter Kumar will preside and Dr Pushpam kumar, Senior Economic Advisor and Chief of Ecosystem Services at UNEP, Nairobi, will be the Keynote Speaker.
